The Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025 wrapped up on November 23, and the final match was between the Pakistan Shaheens and Bangladesh A. Although the former enjoyed victory, the latter was able to showcase a few players that could become great assets to the coming years of the Bangladesh senior team, especially through the T20 World Cup 2026.
Among the bunch, some of them were the leading performers of the tournament. Here are some players from Bangladesh, who because of their exceptional contributions, may soon join the big league.
1) Habibur Rahman Sohan
Top-order batter Habibur Rahman Sohan of Bangladesh A has really been shining in the Asia Cup Rising Stars 2025. He has accumulated 228 runs from 5 matches and is thus the third-highest run getter in the tournament, with an average of 57. He has scored the century and half-century against Hong Kong and India A respectively.
The 26-year-old, besides displaying his attractive strokes, also showed lots of grit and patience while batting with the responsibility at the top in the tournament, and thus can easily be a ready choice for Bangladesh in the T20I side along with Parvez Hossain Emon and Saif Hassan.
2) Ripon Mondol
Ripon Mondol debuted his T20I international career in 2023 against Malaysia and has participated in 3 matches but still, his talent should be more appreciated in the team.
The 22-year-old who took 5 wickets in his last BPL season with Barishal became the Asia Cup Rising Star’s leading wicket-taker with 11 wickets from 5 matches with an economy rate of 6.75. Mondol had two 3-wicket hauls in the tournament, one against Afghanistan A and the other against Pakistan A in the final.
The young prospect could be a great asset for the national team and be an alternative for Shoriful Islam because he bowls a very good line and length and his speed goes up to 135 kph but he is very consistent with bowling at 130 kph.
3) Rakibul Hasan
Rakibul Hasan, the left-arm orthodox spinner, has been a star bowler for the country in the tournament being the third-highest wicket-taker with 8 wickets from 5 matches. Rakibul’s best figures come as 3/7 against Afghanistan and the budding talent can become a potential addition to the spin bowling arsenal of Bangladesh which has recently been built.
Rakibul can attack without leaking runs and thrives, especially in the middle and death overs, to control the pivot of the match. With only three T20I matches under his belt, Bangladesh might consider him for bigger responsibilities ahead of T20 World Cup 2026.
