Record Alert: Amit Mishra Surpasses Lasith Malinga To Become The 3rd Highest Wicket Taker In IPL History, Who Is There At 1st and 2nd Spot?

In the 43rd match of Indian Premier League 2023, the veteran Indian leg spinner Amit Mishra who is playing for Lucknow Super Giants has once again made a huge record to his name. Mishra surpassed the Sri Lankan legend Lasith Malinga to become the third highest wicket taker in the history of IPL.

Mishra used the Lucknow track amazingly as it supported spinners to the fullest and bowled exceptionally well taking two wickets and giving away 21 runs in his four overs. He dismissed Suyash Prabhudessai and the captain Faf Du Plessis, which was a huge wicket for him.

Amit Mishra has so far played 160 matches in IPL in which he has taken 172 wickets at an economy of 7.34 and has an average of 23.75. In the IPL , Amit Mishra has the best bowling figure of 5 wickets giving 17 runs.

Talking about IPL 2023, Mishra has so far played 6 matches in which he has grabbed 6 wickets. During this he possesses an average of 18.16 and with the best bowling figure of 2/21.

If we look at the list of top-5 wicket takers in IPL history, the former Chennai Super Kings all-rounder Dwayne Bravo has 183 wickets to his name. RR spinner Yuzvendra Chahal is at second spot with 178 wickets. Mishra has 172 wickets while both Malinga and Piyush Chawla have 170 wickets to his name.

In this match, RCB posted a target of 126 runs at the loss of 9 wickets. Faf du Plessis scored the maximum 44 runs for the team.

While chasing the target of 127 runs, Bangalore stopped LSG at 108 runs and won the match by 18 runs.
