RCB vs GT: RCB Skipper Faf du Plessis Gave Special Advice To King Kohli And Also Praised Shubman Gill After The Defeat

The 70th match of IPL 2023 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Titans. In this match, Gujarat got a resounding victory by 6 wickets.

Gujarat captain Hardik Pandya won the toss and decided to bowl first. Batting first, Bangalore scored 197 runs at the loss of 5 wickets in 20 overs. In response, Gujarat scored 198 runs after losing 4 wickets in 19.1 overs, winning the match by 6 wickets. It was a must-win match for RCB, but they could not get it.

Captain Faf du Plessis was disappointed with the defeat of RCB. After the match, he said that it was very disappointing. Virat Kohli is a great player in T20.

After the match presentation, Faf du Plessis said, “It has been very disappointing to be honest. Gill played a very good innings. We should have got him out early. I thought it was a good score. In the first innings, there was a lot of humidity. The ball wasn’t gripping at all in the second innings. Still, I thought it would be a good score.”

He praised Kohli and said, “I think our top four batsmen scored a lot. However, our middle-order batters could not do it. Virat has played very good cricket throughout the season. I feel that right now, there is a lot left in Virat. He is playing T20 as well.”

RCB team could also not end the trophy drought for 15 years this season. Mumbai Indians benefited from RCB’s defeat and have made the playoffs. At the same time, Virat Kohli scored an unbeaten 101 runs in this match, while Gujarat’s Shubman Gill scored an unbeaten 104 runs.
