CRIC Informer

There were reports that Rajat Patidar’s injury was so serious that it would keep him off the field for a long time. The RCB captain and India batter received an injury during the first unofficial Test between India A and South Africa A in Bengaluru which kept him out of the game for four months.

Before this unfortunate event, he was performing very well and consistently scoring runs, at least in red-ball cricket, which had raised the hopes of getting a place in the Indian team. Moreover, the Rajat Patidar injury was a big sorrow for Madhya Pradesh, since it made him unavailable for this season’s Ranji Trophy and other domestic tournaments.

After the end of IPL 2025, where he took RCB to their first-ever cup, Patidar was a part of the Duleep Trophy and he finished the tournament as the top scorer. He amassed 382 runs at an average of 76.40 in five matches, including two fifties and two hundreds.

The next thing to happen was that he made a resilient 66 in the Irani Cup 2025 before hitting his first First Class double century during the Ranji Trophy match against Punjab in Indore. Patidar had a slow beginning to the South Africa A series, with scores of 19 & 28 in both innings and he also suffered a serious injury in the same match.

when will Rajat Patidar make a comeback?

Longing for Rajat Patidar injury, RCB fans and management are worried about his IPL 2026 availability. He is their captain and one of the top-notch batsmen, and his absence would significantly disturb the team’s balance as the franchise gears up for its title defence.

In the wake of the ecstatic reactions of the supporters, the RCB captain will come back for the third SMAT match of Madhya Pradesh on November 30, He has healed up from his minor issue on the left knee and the BCCI Centre of Excellence (CoE) has allowed him to go back to the field. Patidar’s return to cricket will come after one month of inactivity.
