Rajasthan Royals And Barmy Army Tweet About R Ashwin Get Viral, Check Out The Wittiest Post

In what turned out to be a lopsided second semi-final of the 2022 T20 World Cup, India and England faced off. The crucial game was played in Adelaide. With all 10 wickets in hand, England successfully chased down the hefty total of 169, dominating the proceedings the entire time.

Throughout the game, all eyes were on R Ashwin as spectators watched to see if he would run out a non-striker or not. The veteran spinner notably ran out Jos Buttler in a similar way during the IPL 2019 and is a major proponent of running out a non-striker who attempts to gain an unfair advantage.

Buttler, who is currently Ashwin’s colleague at Rajasthan Royals, gave the spinner no chance to run him out by remaining deep inside his crease off the bowling of the spinner. Not only the supporters noticed this, but even Barmy Army and Rajasthan Royals tweeted humorous updates about it.

Here’s what Rajasthan Royals’ official Twitter handle posted:

Similarly, Barmy Army Twitter tweeted this:
In helping England advance to the semi-final, Buttler scored an unbeaten 80 off just 49 deliveries. England finished the 169-run chase in 16 overs thanks in large part to Alex Hales’ undefeated 86 off 47, who has extensive experience playing in Australia.
Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya handled the batting for India. After KL Rahul’s early dismissal, Kohli entered the batting order. Kohli made 50 off of 40 before leaving the game in the 18th over. Pandya batted for 63 runs off of 33 balls with a strike rate of 190.91 after a sluggish start to his innings.
The two’s efforts, however, were in fruitless because England finished the chase in 16 overs. On November 13, the Jos Buttler-led team will compete against Babar Azam’s Pakistan at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Both groups have won the T20 World Cup once.
