According to the latest report, the final of the World Test Championship and the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is going to clash as it will happen in the same week. The final of the World Test Championship will be held on the Oval.
However, any official announcement has not been made by the International Cricket Council(ICC) yet but a media report suggests that the final of the WTC will likely take place from June 7 to June 11 with a reserve day if inclement weather hits the ground.
The 16th edition of the IPL will be entirely played in India and according to BCCI’s proposed schedule, the final of the IPL 2023 will take place either on May 28 or June 4. The main problem for the BCCI will arise when India will qualify for the finals of the World Test Championship.
In the case of India entering the final, the BCCI will obviously look to shuffle the dates in order to keep a proper balance between the final of both the tournament.
India is at the fourth place in the points table of ICC Test Championship. On the other hand, talking about the IPL, the auction of the Indian Premier League will happen on December 23.
