Will Sanju Samson Play For Ireland?

Indian team management always overlooked star wicketkeeper batter, Sanju Samson, despite his brilliant performances whenever he gets to play for the Indian team.

BCCI had overlooked him in the T20 World cup 2022, and now in the ongoing series against Bangladesh, he didn’t get the chance in the squad. Earlier, in the New Zealand tour, he was selected but had the opportunity to play only one match.

Sanju Samson performed exceptionally well in the Indian Premier League from Rajasthan Royal and showed a brilliant captaincy role in IPL. And now he is getting an offer from the Ireland cricket team. Ireland’s cricket president offered Sanju Samson to play international cricket for Ireland’s National Team, and he ensured that Sanju would be the team’s skipper and play all the matches.

“We will let him play all the matches if he is in our national team. He is a very impressive batter and he is one of the rare talent. We provide him an offer to play the matches from our national team. Our team required a skipper and batter like him. If the Indian team is overlooking him then he can join us, we respect him and make him play every match,” said Ireland’s cricket president.

In reply to the offer from Ireland’s president, Sanju said I thanked you a lot. Still, my dream is only to play for the Indian team, and I will never play for any other nation, and I can understand sometimes we have to wait and I am here waiting for my selector’s call.

“First of all, I want to thank Ireland’s cricket president for considering me for this role but I can’t accept his offer. I started my cricketing to play for Indian national cricket team. I don’t want to play for any other nation or can’t even think to play for another nation. I can’t accept this offer and I want to say sorry to Ireland’s cricket president.” Said, Sanju Samson

Furthermore, speaking on this issue, Sanju stated that sometimes fixed playing XI doesn’t allow your place in the team, but I will wait and work hard to get a place in the playing XI, and I am not sad.

“Although, I haven’t got plenty of chances in the Indian cricket team but I will work hard and have self believe and sometimes the combination of team doesn’t allow your place in the playing XI but it doesn’t mean I am sad.”
