One of the best captains of the game, MS Dhoni, has arrived in Chennai ahead of the 17th season of the IPL. The defending champions posted a picture of Captain Cool on their social media with the caption “‘#THA7A Dharisanam!” There is speculation that this season will be Dhoni’s final one as a player.
Dhoni guided his yellow army towards their record-breaking fifth title, defeating the Gujrat Titans in the final test match of 2023. Ravindra Jadeja scored ten of the final two deliveries to seal the deal for the Chennai Super Kings.
However, in the previous season, Dhoni battled with a knee injury and was greeted by enormous chants of DHONI Dhoni every time he stepped on to the field.
Speculations were there that the previous season of the IPL would be Dhoni’s last season as a player and as a captain because of CSK winning the title; however, Dhoni said that he would push himself for one more season for the love that he has gotten from the fans in the IPL.
CSK began their pre-season training camp on Saturday, with the first batch of CSK players arriving the day before. Chahar, Gaikwad, Simarjeet Singh, Rajvardhan Hangargekar, Mukesh Choudhary, Prashant Solanki, Ajay Mandal, Shaik Rasheed, and Nishant Sindhu have already arrived. CSK will be facing Royal Challengers Bangalore in the opening encounter of the IPL 2024.
