“Let it settle, don’t fight it….” Sangakkara’s Big Comment On Sanju Samson Over Selection In T20I Squad

Indian young wicketkeeper batter Sanju Samson has been picked in the T20I squad for the upcoming series against Sri Lanka. After a long time in his cricketing career, BCCI selectors have shown their trust in Sanju directly.

Sanju has been facing the issues of in and out in the Indian team for a while. Now he has been selected in the Indian team after a while, so his game may be affected psychologically, and there would be extra pressure on him to prove himself in this series only.

Speaking on this, former Sri-Lankan skipper and Rajasthan Royals head coach Kumara Sangakkara explained that He is a very young talented player with skill and temperament. He suggested Samson not put pressure on himself and should not think this was his last chance.

“The one thing he shouldn’t do is think that this is his final chance to prove his mettle and try and be desperate to succeed. He’s got every single thing going for him. He’s a wonderful young man, and he’s got skills and temperament. Let it settle, don’t fight it, and make sure you’re adjusting to what comes at you on the day. And then, go out there and enjoy the way he plays.” Sanju explained.

Further, the RR head coach added that I had spent much time with him, and I knew if he got a chance to bat in the lower batting order, he could deliver the game that Indian team management required from him.

“He might have to bat outside position depending on where they want him to fit in. Whether batting at the top or lower-middle order at 5 and 6, he’s got the game, the power, the touch, the placement, and the mentality to do well.”
