Big Update Provided By Virat’s Childhood Coach On His Omission From T20 Squad Against Sri Lanka

Indian team is all set to play three-match ODIs, and three T20I series against Sri Lanka, and BCCI has announced the squad for the upcoming series. In the upcoming series, senior players like Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, and KL have been rested for the T20I series. In their absence, Hardik Pandya is appointed as the skipper and Surya Kumar Yadav as his deputy.

The snub of the Virat from the shortest format of cricket surprises every cricket fan. Virat is the second-highest run-getter in T20I for the Indian team in 2022. However, he was the highest run-scorer in the T20 World Cup 2022, scoring 296 runs in 6 matches with a blistering average of 98.66. This year he has played 20 T20I matches, adding 781 runs to his name with a stunning average of 55.78.

Every cricket fan and expert is debating whether Virat has been rested or dropped from the upcoming series in the T20I of his omission.

Regarding this matter, Virat’s childhood coach Rajkumar Sharma explained that it would be very fast to say anything about Virat until we get an official announcement.

“There is still no clarity. Since there is no official confirmation over this, we don’t know if he has been dropped or if he asked for rest. I don’t think it’s right to say he has been dropped,” Rajkumar said.

Further, he added that many seniors had been excluded from the upcoming series against Sri Lanka, and these guys were coming from the test matches.

“There is no major T20 competition coming up, and there is still a lot of time left for the next World Cup. These guys were there for the Test matches in Bangladesh, and most of them are also available for the ODI series against Sri Lanka,” he added.

He might have been rested, and team management will look for the next year’s world cup, so they have been trying young players.

“Virat Kohli might have been given rest as many other senior players aren’t in the T20 team either. The team management has rested these guys and given the youngsters an opportunity. I don’t think they would replace players like them without having conversations with them,” explained Rajkumar.
