On 23rd December 2022, at the auction table, they spent most of the money on Young speedster bowler Mukesh Kumar at 5.50 Cr, who impressed everyone with his bowling against Bangladesh A. Delhi team management also picked South African top order batter Rilee Rossouw on 4.60 Cr and destructive wicketkeeper batter Phil Salt at 2 Cr. Adding some experience to the top-order batting, they grabbed experienced Manish Pandey at 2.40 Cr in the mini-auction.
Looking at the playing XI, they have opening pair in the form of experienced Australian batter David Warner and Prithvi Shaw, at no. 3 team management will show their trust in Australian all-rounder Mitchell Marsh. Skipper Rishabh Pant will probably bat at no.4, but sometimes we can see him in the top order to maintain the left and right combination.
Sarfaraz Khan, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav will be seen at no. 5,6,7, and 8, respectively, but in the shortest format, team management always changes the batting approach according to the match conditions.
