The veteran West Indian players, Andre Russell and Sunil Narine, remain part of the franchise as they have been retained by KKR. Not only this the star batter and their captain Shreyas Iyer are also making a comeback.
Among the notable releases for Kolkata Knight Riders, all-rounders Shardul Thakur and Shakib al Hasan have their names. Shardul Thakur was acquired through a trade with Delhi Capitals in IPL 2023, but the arrangement did not yield the desired results. On the other hand, due to the fragile performance of the franchise, KKR has opted to leave Shakib al Hasan.
