England wicketkeeper-batter Sam Billings on Monday announced that he would be skipping Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 to focus on longer format cricket at the start of English summer with county Kent.
“Have taken the tough decision that I won’t be taking part in the next IPL @KKRiders. Looking to focus on longer format cricket at the start of the English summer with @kentcricket.” Sam Billings wrote on his twitter account.
“Thank you so much for the opportunity @kkriders! Loved every minute of it. An amazing franchise with some brilliant people. Hopefully, see you again in the future.” Further, he added in another tweet.
In his IPL career, Sam Billings has played 30 matches and scored 503 runs with an average of 19.35 and his highest score is 65. However, in the IPL 2022, KKR picked him on 2 crores and played 8 matches so far with rotating another wicket-Keeper Sheldon Jackson. Billing has scored 169 runs with an impressive average of 24.14.
This English wicketkeeper batter has been preparing for the red ball cricket. England will face Pakistan for three matches and this test will be the part of World Test Championship.

Kolkata Knight Riders have already traded Rahmanullah Gurbaz, the Afghanistan wicketkeeper batter could be the replacement in the KKR line-up. IPL 2023 auction is scheduled on 23rd December at Kochi.
