Kevin Pietersen Names 2 Players To Be The Superstar Of Indian Cricket In The Future, Rinku Singh Not In The List

The Young opener of Rajasthan Royals Yashasvi Jaiswal has impressed everyone with his batting at the top order. With 575 runs in 13 matches, the 21-year-old currently ranks third in terms of scoring the most runs in this tournament so far.

The former star England batsman Kevin Pietersen has praised the left-handed guy with all heart. Kevin Pietersen has been highly impressed by the diverse range of shots played by Yashasvi Jaiswal. Pietersen believes that Jaiswal has the potential to secure a place in India’s 50-over World Cup squad.

The English veteran feels that after the era of Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal are the future stars of Indian cricket as potential openers. He said that the BCCI and team management should not delay much and pick them in the Indian Squad to give more and more opportunities in international cricket.

“We’re seeing the future of the India top order in Shubman Gill and Yashasvi Jaiswal. I would really strongly look at Jaiswal for the 50-over World Cup. I’d blood him and let him go. I think 50 overs is going to be a thing of the past in the not-too-distant future, but I’d get him into the squad straight away,” Pietersen wrote in a column for Betway.

Shubman Gill gave an outstanding performance in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad and scored a remarkable century. With a total of 576 runs in 13 matches in the IPL 2023, Gill currently holds the second position in the IPL Orange Cap list. He can surpass Faf du Plessis in upcoming games to get the cap. Kevin Pietersen praised both Gill and Jaiswal stating that they are exceptional talents and they can bring a lot of success for them and India in the near future.

“The IPL gives young players three things. It gives them the opportunity to play, it gives them the visibility of fans around the world, and it gives them the composure to be able to perform in the highest intensity of battle. Stadiums are full, everything’s busy, and it’s high-intensity. If you come through that and tick all three boxes, then you’re destined to play international sport. That’s what I’ve seen from these two youngsters in particular, they’re stars. They’re not just hit-and-miss cricketers, they’re absolute quality,” Pietersen wrote.
