IPL 2023: LSG Beat MI By 5 Runs In The Thriller, Stoinis Fiery Knock Kept The Playoffs Hopes Alive

In the 63rd match of IPL 2023, Lucknow Super Giants defeated Mumbai Indians by 5 runs with the help of Marcus Stoinis’ explosive half-century. Mumbai won the toss and chose to field in this match. With this win, LSG is in the race for the playoffs.

Mumbai won the toss and invited LSG to bat first. Lucknow Super Giants set a score of 177 runs losing 3 wickets in 20 overs. Marcus Stoinis scored the most runs for the team. He played a blistering knock of 89 runs off 47 balls which includes 4 fours and 8 sixes. Krunal Pandya contributed with 49 runs off 42 balls including 1 four and 1 six. However, due to muscle strain, he had to retire hurt. Stoinis and Krunal shared a partnership of 82*(59) runs.

For Mumbai Indians, Jadon Behrendorff got two wickets while Piyush Chawla managed to get one.

While chasing the target of 178 runs, Mumbai could only manage to score 172 runs losing 5 wickets in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan was the top scorer for the team where he got 59 runs off 29 balls. During this, he smashed 8 fours and one six. Captain Rohit Sharma played a knock of 37 runs off 25 balls which includes one four and three sixes. In the end, Tim David tried his best to win the match for Mumbai with his brilliant 32 runs in 19 balls but could not get over the bowlers of LSG.

From Lucknow, Ravi Bishnoi and Yash Thakur took 2 wickets each. Meanwhile, Mohsin Khan took one wicket.
