IPL 2023: Why RCB Will Retire Ab De Villiers And Chris Gayle Jersey Forever?

The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is just 2 weeks away and one of the most entertaining teams Royal Challengers Bangalore(RCB) will give a special honor to their former star players – AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle.

Earlier, it was known that both these players will be inducted into the RCB Hall Of Fame for their remarkable contribution to the franchise. Now it has been known that the management has decided to decamp the jersey of AB De Villiers and Chris Gayle which is 17 and 333 respectively.

These two cricketers have been associated with the franchise for a long period of time and have played some outstanding cricket in this cash-rich league. As a result of their impact and services, the management has decided to honor them.

The induction ceremony for the RCB Hall of Fame will take place on March 26 as part of the RCB Unbox event at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore. The fans are eagerly booking their tickets for the event. In the same ceremony, the management will also unveil the new jersey for the upcoming season.

The RCB franchise came on Twitter and gave the news regarding Ab De Villiers and Chris Gayle.

AB de Villiers joined the Royal Challengers Bangalore team in 2011 and played a total of 156 matches for them. During this, he scored 4491 runs. On the other hand, the West Indian batting legend Gayle has got 3163 runs for RCB.

RCB will play its first match of IPL 2023 against Mumbai Indians on April 2 under the captaincy of Faf Du Plessis.
