Royal Challengers Bangalore Royal Challengers Bangalore has been ruled out from the 16th edition of the Indian Premier League after a 6-wicket defeat against Gujarat Titans. The match was played at Chinnaswamy Stadium, even after Virat Kohli’s century Bangalore failed to make it into the playoffs.
In this match Gujarat Titans won the toss and elected to bowl first while batting first RCB hung 197 runs on the board at the loss of five wickets.
As RCB took the wicket of Wridhimann Saha it seemed that GT might have some problems but Shubman Gill once again came to the rescue with his sensational hundred. He scored 104 runs and broke the hopes of RCB qualifying into the top-4 teams of the tournament.
Just after the Bangalore defeat Mumbai Indians sealed their place among the top 14 to make it into the playoffs. Before MI Gujarat Titans, Chennai Super Kings and Lucknow super joints have claimed their places for the same. After the heroic century of Gill, the captain of Gujarat Hardik Pandya praised him with heaps of words.
While talking in post match presentation, Pandya said,”Absolutely. The calmness the boys had inside and we wanted to keep the momentum going into Tuesday’s game.”
Hardik Pandya praised Gill and said that that he is exceptional and a delight to watch when he showcases his batting skills to the fullest. Shubman has scored a total of 680 runs in this season and he is just 50 runs behind Faf du Plessis who is currently holding the orange cap.
