In the 54th match of IPL 2023, Mumbai Indians got a sensational win against Royal Challengers Bangalore where they defeated the visitors by six wickets.
Mumbai came to chase down a target of 200 runs. Ishan Kishan(42) gave a solid start to Mumbai Indians. However, the skipper Rohit Sharma once again failed to score runs and returned to Pavilion after scoring seven runs.
After the departure of Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, and Nehal Wadhera took the job ahead and scored brutally against the RCB bowlers. Suryakumar Yadav got 83 runs in just 35 balls with the help of seven fours and six sixes. Wadhera from the other end kept the momentum as well and smacked 52 runs in just 34 balls which includes four fours and three maximums.
Mumbai won this match in just 16.3 overs and now they have jumped to number three in IPL 2023 points table.
For RCB, Wanindu Hasaranga and Vijaykumar Vyshak got two wickets each.
Before it, Rohit Sharma won the toss and invited RCB to bat first. It was captain Faf du Plessis who once again smashed the all-important runs for the team along with Glenn Maxwell. Maxwell got 68 runs while the orange cap holder Faf du Plessis scored 65 runs. Dinesh Karthik also looked in good rhythm and got 30 runs in 18 balls.
For Mumbai Indians, Behrendorff got the maximum three wickets. Chris Green, Chris Jordan,w and Kumar Kartikeya grabbed one wicket each.
For the sensational 83 runs in just 35 balls, Suryakumar has been adjudged as player of the match.
