In the 6th game of the Indian Premier League 2023, Lucknow Super Giants were chasing a challenging target of 218 runs set by Chennai Super Kings. To give a good start, the West Indian star Kyle Mayers, played an outstanding innings of 53 runs off just 22 balls. However, KL Rahul, who opened the batting with Mayers could not assist the team much and struggled to make an impact. In the end, CSK managed to get a win of 12 runs.
Sanjay Manjrekar criticized KL Rahul for his slow batting in the match as everyone expected him to play a bit aggressively. He was surprised to see that while Mayers was in full swing while Rahul took the anchor role and played slowly. Manjrekar expressed his disappointment and pointed out that just because Mayers was attacking the Chennai Super Kings’ bowlers Rahul should not have slowed down his pace of scoring.
