IPL 2023: ‘I Hope He Is Watching’, Mohsin Khan Emotional Speech After The Superb Last Over Against Mumbai Indians

On Tuesday, May 16, the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow hosted the 63rd game of the Indian Premier League 2023, where the Lucknow Super Giants led by Krunal Pandya beat Mumbai Indians by five wickets and kept their playoff hopes alive.

After the brilliant innings by Krunal Pandya and Marcus Stoinis, Lucknow Super Giants managed to score 177 runs in alloted 20 overs. Despite a strong start from Ishan Kishan and Rohit Sharma, Mumbai Indians couldn’t make the most of it. In the last, Tim David showed all his power-hitting skills but couldn’t get Mumbai across the line.

The left-handed pacer of Lucknow, Mohsin Khan emerged as the hero in the thrilling encounter. Mumbai Indians needed 11 runs to win in the final over and Mohsin had the ball. Tim David and Cameron Green were at the crease. In the crunch situation, Khan executed the Yorkers so perfectly that big hitter’s Green and David did not connect the ball and lost the match by five runs.

After LSG won the game, Mohsin Khan expressed his opinion on his performance and dedicated his victory to his father who is currently sick and feeling unwell. The 24-year-old bowler claimed one wicket in his three overs and spent 26 runs in total.

In the presentation ceremony, Mohsin Khan said,”I am playing after one year. I was injured, and it was a tough time. I am happy to bowl, and my father was in the hospital in the ICU. He was discharged yesterday, and I am hoping he is watching. Today I played for my father. He was hospitalized and is out now. Thanks to the team and support staff for having faith in me.”

After the win over Mumbai Indians, LSG has now moved to third position in the points table with 15 points in 13 games.
