On Sunday, May 7 a thrilling match was hosted between Rajasthan Royals and Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur. It was the 52nd game of the tournament where SRH defeated Rajasthan Royals by four wickets.
However, even after the loss, the star spinner of Rajasthan Royals Yuzvendra Chahal made a record to his name. Chahal turned out to be the most successful bowler for Rajasthan Royals in yesterday’s match. He grabbed four wickets in his quota of four overs giving away just 29 runs.
After his brilliant spell against Sunrisers Hyderabad, now Chahal has become the joint-highest wicket-taker in the history of IPL along with the former legendary all-rounder of Chennai Super Kings, Dwayne Bravo.
Chahal has 183 wickets to his name in 142 games of IPL where he has claimed number one spot. On the other hand, Dwayne Bravo also has the same number of wickets in his hand but for that he has played 161 matches. The third bowler in the list is Piyush Chawla with 174 wickets in 175 matches.
Talking about the match, Rajasthan Royals batter first and hung a score of 214 runs at the loss of two wickets in alloted 20 overs. For Rajasthan, Buttler scored 95 runs in just 59 balls while Samson got 66 runs in 38 balls.
Chasing the target of 215 runs, SRH reached the destination on the last ball. For SRH everyone contributed to the win. Abhishek Sharma got 55 runs while Rahul Tripathi got 47 runs. The man of the match Glenn Phillips who scored 25 runs in just 7 balls was the game changer for SRH. At the end, it was Abdul Samad who got 17 runs in 7 balls and won the match for the team.
