IPL 2023: Harbhajan Singh Explained This Indian Star Batter As The Most Dangerous Batter In The Cricketing World

At present, Virat Rohit and Sharma are covered in the list of great batters not only in India but also in the world, but former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh considers another player as India’s most dangerous batsman. With his sudden statement, Harbhajan Singh has created a sensation in cricket.

Former India cricketer Harbhajan Singh has praised the batting style of Gujarat Titans opener Shubman Gill, who scored his maiden IPL century in the match against Sunrisers Hyderabad on Monday night. The 23-year-old Gill hit his maiden IPL century (101 off 58 balls) with 13 fours and a six, and Sai Sudarshan’s 47 (36) helped GT post a competitive score of 188/9. For Hyderabad, Bhuvneshwar Kumar took his second IPL haul (5/31).

Mohammed Shami (4/21) rattled Hyderabad’s top order, while Mohit (4/24) destroyed the middle order. Hyderabad could only manage 154/9, while Heinrich Klaasen (64 off 44 balls) scored a fighting half-century. Gujarat became the first team to qualify for the playoffs with this win.

Harbhajan told Star Sports, “Shubman Gill’s specialty is that he has all kinds of shots and chooses his shots according to the situation. When Shubman is in his rhythm, he plays pure cricketing shots, which is a testimony to how strong his batting coaching has been. He does not play shots without thinking. Seeing Shubman’s straight drives and pull shots is a great feeling.”

Meanwhile, former India cricketer Sunil Gavaskar praised the Punjab cricketer’s ability to read the ball well.

Punjab’s Shubman started his IPL career with Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018. In his first season, he scored 203 runs at an average of 33.83, remaining unbeaten five times in 11 innings of 13 matches. In his second season in IPL (IPL-2019), Gill’s game improved further, and he managed to score 296 runs in 14 matches, during which three half-centuries came out of Gill’s bat. In IPL 2020, Gill was the highest run-scorer for KKR. He scored 440 runs in 14 matches at an average of 33.84 with three half-centuries.

In IPL-2023, Monday, May 15, was a special day for Shubman Gill of Gujarat Titans. The 23-year-old batsman not only scored his maiden IPL hundred in the match against Sunrisers, but his innings also played a key role in helping Gujarat Titans qualify for the playoffs.
