The Indian Premier League 2023 has undergone a recent change where the 46th match between Lucknow Super Giants and Chennai Super Kings, which was initially set to take place on May 4, has got another date. The match has been rescheduled to make way for the Lucknow Municipal Corporation elections.
As the state government is looking for a smooth and organised election, the IPL management has made a decision to prepone the match to May 3 which will be played during the afternoon slot. The match on 4th May was also scheduled at the same time.
The city of Lucknow is set to hold urban governing council elections in two phases on May 4 and May 11. During these phases, voters will elect their representatives for 17 municipal corporations, 199 municipal councils, and 439 nagar panchayats. The results of these elections will be announced on May 13.
Lucknow Super Giants, have been performing well in the tournament and will look to continue their winning streak when they go to Jaipur to play against Rajasthan Royals on April 19.
LSG got a close defeat against the Punjab Kings. LGS is on the second spot in the IPL Points Table with six points. The captain KL Rahul played a superb knock of 74 runs in 56 balls and will look to continue the same form.

On the other hand, Chennai Super Kings beat RCB by 8 runs in their last match played at M Chinnaswamy.
