Royal Challengers Bangalore lost the match against Chennai Super Kings by 8 runs at their home ground M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday. The 24th match of the IPL was a high-scoring encounter between RCB and CSK. And CSK team managed to defend the target of 227 runs and won the clash by 8 runs. After the match, RCB’s star batsman Virat Kohli got a big blow.

Virat Kohli was found to have breached the IPL Code of Conduct during the RCB vs. CSK match, after which the match referee fined him 10 percent of his match fee. Virat Kohli had celebrated aggressively on the wicket of Shivam Dubey, seeing which the match referee took this action against him. The former RCB captain has accepted his mistake.

“Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli has been fined 10 percent of his match fee after he was found guilty of breaching the IPL Code of Conduct against Chennai Super Kings,” the IPL said a press release.

Kohli has admitted a Level 1 offense under Article 2.2 of the Code of Conduct. The match referee’s decision on a Level 1 breach of the Code of Conduct is final and binding.

Batting first, CSK scored 226 runs losing 6 wickets in 20 overs. Virat Kohli could not give a good start to RCB chasing a huge target. He got out after scoring 6 runs in 4 balls with the help of a four.

Kohli has done well in the current IPL, but his bat was silent against CSK. Kohli has scored 220 runs in 5 matches in IPL 2023 with the help of three half-centuries.

Faf du Plessis (62) and Glenn Maxwell (76) played stormy innings for RCB while chasing the target of 227 runs, but they could not win the team together. RCB team could score 218 runs losing 8 wickets in 20 overs. With this win, CSK has reached third in the points table. On the other hand, RCB’s team is in seventh place after winning two out of five matches.
