After a close defeat of 5 runs in the 8th match of Indian Premier League 2023, Rajasthan Royals have got another setback before their next game against Delhi Capitals. According to the latest report, the star England batter Jos Buttler is not fit to play the game against DC.

During the game against Punjab Kings, Jos Buttler hurt his finger and might not be able to participate in their upcoming match against Delhi Capitals. Buttler’s left finger got several stitches, and he couldn’t come to bat in the opening position.

As Jos Buttler was unable to open the innings, the team decided to promote Ravichandran Ashwin up the batting order. However, the strategy didn’t work out as Ashwin was dismissed in the fourth over. Jos Buttler eventually came in to bat at number three and started well where hitting a boundary and a six. However, he was ultimately dismissed by Nathan Ellis in the last over of the powerplay.

The English batter received the best catch award in the match. He was seen white strapping on his injured finger when he came to collect his cheque. According to a report from The Times of India, it is unlikely that he will be able to recover in just 72 hours and may have to sit out of the upcoming game. This is just the beginning of the tournament and Rajasthan Royals management may decide to give him rest to ensure his full recovery.
