David Warner-led Delhi Capitals is going through a poor form during this IPL 2023 edition. The team has lost all five matches they have played so far and the management has been struggling in getting a win to accelerate their journey in the tournament. Now another piece of bad news is coming out from the management of DC which will really give shock to the fans.
According to the latest report, certain cricket equipment belonging to Delhi Capitals has gone missing during its transportation from Bangalore to Delhi. The missing items reportedly include bats, pads, shoes, thigh pads, and gloves.
Last week against Royal Challengers Bangalore Delhi Capitals faced their fifth consecutive defeat of the season. Although their performance was not satisfactory in the previous game, the players were also surprised and shocked to discover that some of their cricket equipment was missing from their kit bags when they arrived in Delhi from Bangalore.
Indian Express quoted – “All of them were shocked when they heard that everyone had lost something or the other from their kit bags. This is the first time such an incident has happened and the matter was soon raised to the logistics department, police, and later at the airport. The investigation is on.”
Reports suggest that the stolen equipment comprised 16 bats, along with pads, shoes, thigh pads, and gloves, including the bats of Delhi Capitals’ skipper David Warner, star all-rounder Mitchell Marsh, England’s Phil Salt, and Yash Dhull. It has been estimated that the stolen bats are worth INR one lakh each. After the players informed the franchise about the missing equipment and a complaint has been filed regarding the same.

All the IPL franchises have roped in a logistics company that is responsible for carrying the players’ kit bags and luggage during the tournament and ensuring their timely transportation before the matches. After each game, the players leave their kit bags outside their rooms for the logistics company to take care of. The players then receive their kit bags at the venue of the game.
