IPL 2023: After Shreyas Iyer This Star Batter Of KKR Gets Injured; Doubtful For the Opening Game

The problem for Kolkata Knight Riders for the upcoming season is not going to end any time soon. In the series of injuries, KKR middle-order batter Nitish Rana has also injured his ankle during the practice session of KKR.

Now, Nitish Rana is KKR’s third superstar player who is going with an injury. Before taking throwdowns, Nitish Rana had already batted in two different net sessions and faced Kolkata Knight Riders’ spinners and net bowlers. While taking throwdowns during his third stint he was hit by a ball directly on his left ankle. The impact was enough to knock him down and the KKR staff rushed toward him.

After getting hit by the ball, Nitish Rana take off his shoes and socks for treatment to his left ankle. He remained on the pitch for roughly five minutes and then went to another side of the ground. After that, he did not practice but stayed on the ground with his teammates.

After leaving the field, Nitish Rana received additional treatment for his injured ankle in the dressing room. He was later seen leaving the venue with his left ankle bandaged.

Apart from Nitish Rana, Lockie Ferguson has been also suffering from a hamstring injury and he is likely to miss the first two games for the team. The team’s captain Shreyas Iyer is also dealing with his lower back issue and he is not available for half of the tournament.

Kolkata Knight Riders will face Punjab Kings on April 1 in Mohali.
