After winning the Test and ODI series against the West Indies, Team India faced a 2-3 defeat in the five-match T20I series. Despite initially trailing 0-2, Hardik Pandya and his team managed to bounce back with two consecutive victories. In the final match of this five-match T20I series, India’s batting order troubled against a disciplined bowling attack and then the Indian bowlers got baffled against the power hitting of West Indies.
Former Indian all-rounder and cricket expert Irfan Pathaan has congratulated the West Indies team for their remarkable 3-2 series victory. He also emphasized the importance for the Indian management to minutely assess their loss against the West Indies.
“Congratulations to the West Indies team on a well-deserved series win! Team India must reflect on this defeat, as losing to a lower-ranked team is indeed worrisome,” Irfan posted on his ‘X’ handle.
In this match after batting first, team India posted a total of 165 runs at the loss of nine wickets. Suryakumar Yadav scored the maximum 61 runs for the team in 45 balls.
While chasing the target of 166 runs, West Indies achieved it in 18 overs thanks to brilliant hitting of Brandon King who got 85 runs in 55 balls with the help of five fours and six sixes. Nicholas Pooran got a quick 47 runs in the match.
Nicholas Pooran has been awarded with the player of the series tag. He scored 176 runs in this series with a strike rate of 141.94.
