ICC Announces ODI Team Of The Year, 6 Indians Make Into The List

The International Cricket Council(ICC) has announced the ODI team of the year for 2023. In the playing XI picked by the governing body of international cricket, four six Indians have made it into the list.

Talking about the openers, Indian skipper Rohit Sharma has been designated there along with his countryman Shubman Gill. The number three position has been acquired by Travis Head, the Australian left-handed opener who has been brilliant for Australia in the finale of the ICC ODI World Cup played in India, against India.

Star Indian batter Virat Kohli has been awarded for his superb batting display during the 2023 ODI World Cup and all year he got 1377 runs. He also smashed six centuries in the past calendar year. Star New Zealand batter Daryl Mitchell has got a place in the team at number five. He got 1204 runs in the year 2023 with an average of 52.34.

Number six in the playing XI is the devastating batter of South Africa, Heinrich Klaasen. Klaasen has been the pillar of the Proteas for the last few years and in 2023 as well he got 659 runs with an average of 46.35.

The tall South African secured a spot in the Team of the Year as an all-rounder, showcasing exceptional performances with both the bat and ball in the past 12 months.

Talking about the bowling department, Adam Zampa from Australia and Kuldeep Yadav from India are the two prime spinners. Mohammed Siraj and Mohammad Shami are the two pacers who have made it into the playing XI of the ICC ODI team of the year
