English star all-rounder, Ben Stokes can take back his retirement from ODI cricket. Currently, he is the skipper of the English team in test cricket and under his captaincy, England clinched some historic trophies. Earlier this year, Ben Stokes announced his retirement from the ODI format. He had played a historic knock in 2019 in the 50-over World Cup final match against New Zealand and helped their team to lift the 50-over World Cup title the first time in history.
Previously, He played an amazing knock in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2022. Ben Stokes played a combative knock of 52* runs off 49 balls and helped his team to chase the down target on a two-paced wicket.
While talking to a news show, England’s team head coach Matthew Mott praised Ben Stokes a lot and gave a hint that he may take back the retirement from ODI cricket and suggested him to play all formats of cricket because he is a match-winning player.
“He’s a three-dimensional player and he has a lot to offers to the team. I think we have a lot of guys who can do extraordinary things, but he’s the player about whom you knew that if he is at the crease then you are winning the match.”
Further he said that everyone will support whatever he decides.
“When he spoke to me about his ODI retirement, one of the first things I said was that I would support whatever decision he makes, but I told him that he doesn’t need to retire. You don’t play 50-over matches for a while and I said, ‘You can always remain unretired’. I will ask him to come back today. However, he makes up his mind and he will make his own decisions. He will do what is right for English cricket and he always has. The decision to retire from ODI cricket was his decision.” Head coach said in the last.

Ben Stokes has played 105 ODI matches, he has 2924 runs and 74 wickets to his name. He is very outstanding player with an amazing average of 38.98 in batting while in bowling his best figure was 5/61. He has 3 centuries and 21 half-centuries to his name. He is one of the best fast-bowling all-rounders of England and also an amazing finisher for his team.
