Head Coach Rahul Dravid gave a big update on destructive opener KL Rahul. He is struggling to get back his form and hasn’t performed up to expectations and scored only 22 runs in three games. However, in the practice match, he had played brilliantly for the Indian team.
After his three bad performances, Indian cricket fans and experts started criticizing him and are asking to replace him with another batter. On this issue, the team’s head coach spoke and said we will back KL Rahul.
“He is such a great player, and it will happen in T20Is. He played very well in the practice match against Australia. He is playing very well, and this condition shoots him. There has been a lot of discussion between us about him, and I can’t share everything. It was well-known from starting that who would play the whole tournament. We have played many tournaments, and so many players who played in different tournaments got hurt. We do not pay much attention to what people are saying. We know that T20 tournaments are risky, and we back up our players. It is clear in mine and Rohit’s minds, who will open here,” said Head Coach Rahul Dravid.
On Death Bowling Attack Rahul Dravid Respond:-
From starting of the tournament, the Indian team had a major concern about the death bowling attack, and Dravid praised his bowler performance and said our bowler is giving their best, and we have faith in them.
“This is an area where we want to work. Bumrah’s injury made a major difference in the team. Whereas Arshdeep has performed very well in the short period, Bhuvi and Shami did well. Still, we are trying to improve in the upcoming matches.”
Bad Weather is a big issue for the team in this tournament:-
Rain washed many matches in this prestigious tournament, which seriously affected the point table.
Speaking on weather conditions, “We haven’t any control over the weather. Afghanistan lost two matches, and we are lucky that all of our matches have been played,” he further added.
Coach update on Dinesh Karthik injury:-
Whereas Dinesh Karthik was injured in the last match against South Africa in the 15th over. Speaking on his injury, the head coach hinted that he is not very well and his place in the playing XI will be decided after today’s practice session.

“He has back spasms, but he worked out this morning. We will observe him today and then decide on him tomorrow. While playing at numbers 5 and 6, and sometimes you only get to play 5-6 balls, in such a situation, you cannot blame him, and it is not easy for anyone” the head coach further added.
The Indian team will play their next match against Bangladesh on 2nd November at the Oval. After Rahul Dravid’s announcement, it is confirmed that KL Rahul will play all the remaining matches of the tournament, whereas the place of Dinesh Karthik is still in suspense.
