During Kohli’s debut Test series, Dravid recalled that he saw a young player who had already made a mark in One Day cricket and was starting to find his feet in the Test format. Even at that early stage of his career, it was evident to Dravid that Kohli had something special, and he believed that the young talent would go far.
“I remember it was Virat’s first Test series with the Indian team,” Rahul said. “He was this young kid who had done well in One Day cricket and was just beginning to find his feet in Test cricket. But you could see that there was a special talent out there, and he would be around.”
Kohli has undoubtedly lived up to Dravid’s expectations and more. He has established himself as one of the best batters in the world and has led the Indian team to numerous memorable victories.
