“He Still Needs To Prove A Lot To Become….” Tim Southee Noteworthy Response On Surya Kumar Yadav

Yet again, Surya Kumar Yadav had showcased his immense talent in the shortest format of cricket. In the 2nd T20I against New Zealand, he had struck a mind-blowing century and helped the Indian team to set a mammoth target of 191 runs against the home side.

Surya Kumar Yadav’s recent batting performances have got praised by all the cricketers, and everyone believes that he is the best player of this shortest format of cricket for Indian team but New Zealand pacer Tim Southee has totally different thoughts. New Zealand pacer believes that Suryakumar Yadav has a range of shots and definitely has the potential to play a different kinds of shots on one delivery but still has to prove a lot to become India’s best batter.

Suryakumar’s batting masterclass guided Rohit Sharma-less Team India to a comfortable 65-run win over the Kane Williamson-led side. In a match where Suryakumar propelled Team India to a massive total, New Zealand’s Southee showcased his bowling exploits by taking a match-changing hat-trick for the Black Caps.

After his standout performance during the post-match conference when Southee was asked if he considers Suryakumar as the best Indian T20 player he has ever bowled to, the veteran pacer gave a noteworthy response.

“There has been a number of great T20 players from India, so many great cricketers. Surya has been having a great 12 months and it is for him to continue to do what he has been doing (for over a period of time),” Southee said. “India has produced so many amazing cricketers not only in T20 format but also across the three formats. You have got so many players who have played for a long period of time and have achieved so much over a long period of time, to beat them Surya has lot of hard work to do” he added.
