“Haris Rauf was publically…”Why Did The Qalandars’ Owner Publicly Slam PCB Over Haris Rauf’s Contract?

Lahore Qualandars, one of the teams in the Pakistan Super League, has slammed the Pakistan Cricket Board for the injustice that has been done to Pakistan’s premium pace bowler, Haris Rauf.

In the previous month, the Pakistan Cricket Board released an official statement in which they terminated Haris Rauf from the Central contract after the pacer made himself unavailable for selection in the three-match test series between Pakistan and Australia.

The board has also banned Haris Rauf from taking part in any foreign leagues until June 30, 2024. Speaking of the same, Lahore Qualandars owner Rana said that PCB should not have made the announcement as Haris Rauf was preparing for PSL.

In his recent interaction with ESPNCRICINFO, Rana said,The timing of that announcement was wholly unnecessary. There was no Pakistan series coming up or any emergency situation that necessitated the announcement two days before the PSL. Whatever the logic was, the timing was really bad. It was a huge blow psychologically for him because his whole life’s main aim is playing for Pakistan.”.
Rana further went on to say that “Rauf’s our premier bowler, our highest wicket-taker after Shaheen Afridi. To publicly humiliate him and issue a press release announcing the termination of his central contract, I have never seen this happen anywhere.”.

Lahore Qalandar’s woes further increased as Haris Rauf was ruled out of the PSL due to a dislocated shoulder. Haris Rauf is currently recovering from the injury, and it will take around 5 to 6 weeks for him to fully recover from the injury.

Haris Rauf will be eyeing to regain full fitness before the World Cup, which is scheduled to take place in June 2024 in the West Indies and USA.
