The star Indian bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur has praised Tamil Nadu captain Sai Kishore for his remarkable performance in the ongoing 2024 Ranji Trophy semi-final against Mumbai. Seeing the performance of Kishore, Thakur drew comparisons between the young spinner and the superstar of Indian cricket Ravindra Jadeja.
The 2024 Ranji Trophy semi-final between Mumbai and Tamil Nadu has been captivating. Shardul Thakur showcased brilliance with a century for Mumbai, while Sai Kishore shone as the standout performer with the ball for Tamil Nadu.
After Tamil Nadu’s modest total of 146 runs, Sai Kishore, the captain, displayed outstanding bowling prowess. He spun a web around the Mumbai batters, delivering a sensational performance that left the opposition struggling at 106/7 and positioned his team in a commanding position.
Sai Kishore became the third bowler from Tamilanadu to grab 50 wickets in a single season. Before him, S Venkatraghavan and Ashish Kapoor have achieved this milestone. Kishore is the leading wicket-taker in this season.
Praising Sai Kishore, Shardul Thakur said,”The ball came out really well, and I gave my best on the field. I am grateful to the almighty for that to happen. Honestly, I don’t go after wickets, whether 30, 50, or 60. All that matters is the championship, and I am going for it. There are 11 more wickets to go (in this match).”
He further added,”He was bowling really well. After a long time, I could see a quality left-arm spinner coming up after Jaddu (Ravindra Jadeja).”
