Former Indian spinner Harbhajan Singh has identified key players who could hold the key to India’s and Australia’s fortunes at the upcoming World Cup 2023. Harbhajan highlighted the significance of opening partnerships and named Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill as crucial batsmen for India. He also mentioned Ravindra Jadeja as a key player in India’s bowling department. For Australia, Harbhajan identified Cameron Green as a dangerous all-rounder and Adam Zampa as a potent bowling threat.
Harbhajan emphasized the importance of India’s opening partnership, with Rohit Sharma being a key player. Rohit was the highest run-scorer in the 2019 World Cup and will aim to regain his best form for the upcoming tournament. Harbhajan also expressed hope that Shubman Gill would be included in the team, highlighting Gill’s excellent record in Indian conditions.

“I think Shubman Gill will be the key. He bats extremely well in Indian conditions. In bowling, Ravindra Jadeja, if he fires like we saw in the IPL, where he picked up more than 20 wickets.” Harbhajan stated.
Harbhajan named Cameron Green as the key player for Australia, highlighting his batting, bowling, and fielding abilities. Green’s talent in all three aspects of the game makes him a dangerous player. Harbhajan noted Green’s familiarity with Indian conditions, having played in the IPL, and considered him a potential match-winner.
“If you are talking about Australia, I want to take Green’s name. Cameron Green will be very, very dangerous. He brings not just batting but also bowling and fielding – unbelievable talent.” Harbhajan commented.

Harbhajan recognized Adam Zampa as a significant threat in Australia’s bowling lineup. With 131 wickets in ODIs and 24 dismissals in ODIs played in India, Zampa possesses the skills to trouble opposition batsmen. Harbhajan considered Zampa, an extremely dangerous player who could make a significant impact in the tournament.
“He (Green) has played in India. He played exceptionally well in the IPL. He knows the conditions, and he can be very dangerous there. Then if you talk about Zampa, he can be another addition who can be extremely dangerous. I think these will be the key players for India and Australia.” Harbhajan Singh added in the last.
