The star pacer of Chennai Super Kings, Deepak Chahar has given a huge statement on the former Indian captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Chahar mentioned that MS Dhoni has made a good recovery from his knee injury and expressed confidence that the 42-year-old can continue playing in the Indian Premier League (IPL) for another 2 to 3 years. As we know, the CSK captain has confirmed that he will play in the 2024 IPL as well.
The future of MS Dhoni with Chennai Super Kings and IPL has been one of the most highlighted topics among cricket experts and fans. The ex-India captain announced his retirement from international cricket on August 15, but he has maintained his fitness to lead the Chennai Super Kings over the past four years.
Dhoni has consistently demonstrated that age is merely a number, guiding the Super Kings to IPL victories in 2021 and 2023. This accomplishment has made him the joint-most successful captain in the league along with the Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma.
While talking to PTI news agency, Deepak Chahar said, “I think he has a lot to give to cricket. He can play for another 2-3 seasons. I have seen him bat in the nets. Obviously, he had an injury that anyone can have, people at 24 have that same injury that he has.”
“He has recovered well. For me personally, he should play for another 2-3 years. But it’s his call. He told everyone he was going to play his last game in Chennai. I think he will only decide. For us, it will be very difficult to play for CSK without him. Everyone has (always) seen CSK with Mahi bhai,” he added.
