India Got Major Setback, Ravindra Jadeja Likely To Miss The 2nd Test Due To This Reason

After team India lost to England in the first game of the five-match Test series by 28 runs, the hosts have got another major setback. Team India’s star all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja who had been brilliant with the bat and ball in the first innings for the team is doubtful for the second Test.

It has been informed that the all-rounder is suffering from a hamstring niggle. Jadeja, who was the leading run-scorer in India’s first innings with 87 and also contributed with five wickets across two innings, potentially suffered a hamstring injury as he felt discomfort while attempting a quick single. His condition raised concerns, and head coach Rahul Dravid did not come with any detailed information about the Indian veteran.

“We’ll see. I honestly haven’t had a chance to speak to the physio as yet. Once I get back, I’ll speak to him and see what it is about,” Dravid said at the post-match conference.

The duration of Jadeja’s absence will depend on the severity of the hamstring injury. Even if it’s a strain rather than a tear, he might be asked to get a rest of a week or two.

The gap between the first and second Tests is just four days, with the second Test scheduled to begin on February 2 in Visakhapatnam. It remains uncertain whether Jadeja will accompany the team to Vizag or head to the National Cricket Academy based in Bengaluru.

Jadeja had faced a setback last month in South Africa when he was unable to participate in a Test match due to back spasms.
