David Warner Or Rishabh Pant? Delhi Capitals Owner Announces Skipper For IPL 2024

The Delhi Capitals franchise has officially declared that Rishabh Pant will lead the team in the forthcoming edition of the Indian Premier League. Pant, who serves as both wicketkeeper and batter, is rejoining professional cricket after a gap of 14 months. He has been actively participating in the Delhi Capitals’ pre-season training camp held in Vizag.

Since December 2022, Rishabh Pant has been absent from competitive cricket due to a severe accident he encountered while driving back home to Roorkee. The incident resulted in multiple injuries to his body, posing a significant challenge to his recovery. However, Pant has displayed remarkable determination and perseverance to overcome these injuries.

Just before the Indian Premier League commenced, the Board of Control for Cricket in India officially deemed the wicketkeeper-batter fit to play. This announcement from the Delhi Capitals franchise will undoubtedly be met with immense excitement by fans eagerly anticipating Pant’s return to the field.

While speaking at an occasion, the co-owner and chairman of Delhi Capitals Parth Jindal commended Pant for displaying tremendous resilience throughout his journey to recovery.

“We are delighted to welcome Rishabh back as our Captain. Grit and fearlessness have always dictated his brand of cricket, and not surprisingly, even his road to recovery. I can’t wait to see him walk our team out once again as we look forward to a new season with renewed passion, vigor, and enthusiasm,” Jindal said in a statement.
