Big Update On Virat Kohli And KL Rahul Ahead Of Third T20I Against South Africa

Team India is currently taking on South Africa for a 3-match T20I series and the final match of this saga will be played on 4th October in Indore.

A piece of news is coming from the Indian dressing room according to which the star Indian batsman Virat Kohli has been rested for the 3rd and final match of the series.

India has already bagged the series beating South Africa in the first match by 8 wickets and then winning the 2nd one by 16 runs in Guwahati. There is no doubt in saying that Kohli has gained his lost form where he scored an unbeaten 49 runs in just 28 balls.

According to the latest report, Kohli has played all matches for India since Asia Cup 2022 and now he wants to have some rest before the much-awaited T20 World Cup. In the absence of Kohli, Shreyas Iyer will look to fill his spot at number 3.Source close to this update said, “He [Kohli] has played back-to-back matches. Will have to be careful about his workload. With the T20 World Cup starting later this month, we want Virat to be fresh mentally and physically. He has featured regularly for India in T20I matches since the Asia Cup and with the series already won, it’s better to give him a breather and someone else can be handed a game ahead of him.”

Apart from Kohli, KL Rahul is another name who is supposed to miss the 3rd game against South Africa. After coming back from injury Rahul did not have a good series against Zimbabwe where he was also the captain of the side. However, he played a couple of good innings in the Asia Cup and also against South Africa. He has smashed back-to-back fifties against the proteas which is a good sign for the team before the T20 World Cup.
