Be Hard On Him As Well Like Virat Kohli Was Treated, Gautam Gambhir Blunt Statement For India’s Skipper

Rohit Sharma got a solid start in the third ODI of the three-match ODI series but could not convert it into a big one. Rohit Sharma was caught at deep square leg after scoring 42 in 49 balls with the help of 2 fours and three sixes.

Rohit Sharma did not have any century in the last 50 international innings and former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir thinks that Rohit should be answerable for his recent failures. Gambhir also said that Rohit Sharma should be put in the same place where Kohli was before getting his form back.

While talking to star sports, Gambhir made this observation during the third ODI against Sri Lanka and said,“I think we should talk to him in the same space like we used to when Virat didn’t get a 100 in the last three and a half years. So we should be equally hard on Rohit Sharma because 50 innings in international cricket is quite a lot.”

Gambhir further talked about Rohit’s golden days in the 2019 ODI world cup where he was the highest scorer of the tournament and got 648 runs.

He further added,”It’s not that you didn’t get a 100 in one or two series, and that is one thing that is missing in Rohit’s game from the last World Cup. He used to get those big 100s, this time he’s looking in good form, he’s hitting the ball well but he has to convert. One thing that has stood out for Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, and Virat has got it back, Rohit Sharma needs to get it back at least before the World Cup because these two guys will be extremely important if India has to go all the way and win the World Cup.”

In the third ODI against Sri Lanka, Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill blasted against the Sri Lankan bowling lineup. Kohli scored 166* while Gill made 116 runs. Both these players helped India to put up a mammoth total of 390 runs at the loss of 5 five wickets.
