‘When He Is There, No One Misses Jasprit Bumrah’, Wasim Jaffer Huge Appreciation For This Indian Pacer

India beat Sri Lanka by a huge 317 runs in the last ODI of the three-match ODI series played in Thiruvananthapuram. With this win, India did a clean sweep against the visitors, thanks to outstanding batting performances by Virat Kohli and Shubman Gill who got a hundred in the decider.

Meanwhile, former Indian batter Wasim Jaffer feels that with Mohammed Siraj in the Indian playing XI, no one misses Jasprit Bumrah. Siraj got four wickets in the final game and helped India to seal the series with a memorable victory.

While talking to ESPNCricinfo, Jaffer said,“You can feel the progress he has made as a white-ball bowler. His red-ball bowling is top-notch, but the way he has improved in white-ball cricket in the last year or so is amazing. In a way, you don’t miss Bumrah when Siraj is bowling like that. When Bumrah is not being missed, you can understand how much value Siraj brings in.”

Siraj was the highest wicket-taker against India with 9 scalps in three matches, an average close to 10.22.

Jaffer appreciated the way Siraj kept his positive attitude while bowling. He talked about his approach and ability to clinch wickets at all times.

“Siraj has been magnificent. He’s very aggressive, always at the batsmen. When things are not happening, he is trying to make some inroads. Phenomenal, getting the batters out with the new ball is not easy. The way he makes the ball talk, swinging it both ways, pretty skillful stuff from Siraj.”

After this series win, India will move ahead to the limited-over series against New Zealand where they will take against the Kiwis in the three-match T20I and ODI series.
