BCCI To Rest Rahul Dravid, This Former Cricketer Can Become New Head Coach

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made the decision to rest Rahul Dravid, the head coach of the Indian cricket team, for the upcoming three-match T20I series against Ireland. In his absence, VVS Laxman, the head of the National Cricket Academy, will take charge of coaching duties. The move is aimed at managing the workload of the coaching staff, including other members, ahead of crucial tournaments such as the Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup in 2023.

Following the ongoing tour of the West Indies, Rahul Dravid will not travel with the national team for the T20I series against Ireland. This decision by the BCCI is part of their strategy to provide rest and respite to Dravid and the coaching staff. It is crucial to manage the workload of the coaching staff, considering the demanding schedule of international cricket and the upcoming tournaments on the horizon.

With Rahul Dravid on a break, VVS Laxman, the former Indian cricketer and current head of the National Cricket Academy, will assume the role of coach for the Men in Blue during the T20I series against Ireland. Laxman brings his extensive cricketing experience and deep understanding of the game to the coaching role. His expertise will be invaluable in guiding and mentoring the players during the series.

In addition to the change in head coach, the BCCI is also likely to provide a break to other members of the coaching staff. Sitanshu Kotak and Hrishikesh Kanitkar, specializing in batting, along with Troy Cooley and Sairaj Bahutule, focusing on bowling, are expected to be part of the coaching setup for the Ireland series. This rotation will help in managing the workload and ensuring the coaching staff remains fresh and prepared for future challenges.
