BCB keeping an eye on Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain security in PSL amid India Pakistan war

The Bangladesh Cricket Board is working on bringing back Nahid Rana and Rishad Hossain from the Pakistan Super League after recent tensions in Pakistan. They are keeping an eye on the situation, especially after India started Operation Sindoor following a terror attack in Pahalgam in late April. Just a few days ago, on May 8, the Indian armed forces carried out another attack that affected the Rawalpindi stadium, where Peshawar Zalmi was supposed to play against Karachi Kings. This led the Pakistan Cricket Board to change their plans for that match.

Given these events, the Bangladesh board decided it’s best to get their players home. Reports say the players have also shown concern and want to return quickly. They’re in regular contact with the board, which is discussing things with the PCB and the Bangladesh High Commission in Pakistan.

In a Thursday statement, the BCB said they’re working closely with these parties to ensure the players feel safe in Pakistan. They’re also coordinating with the right authorities to make sure everything is ready for a secure and timely departure of the players. The BCB emphasized that the safety of its players is their top concern.

There are still eight matches left in the PSL 2025, including four league games and the playoff matches. Meanwhile, the Pakistan board is thinking about moving the remaining matches to Karachi, and they also considered options like Dubai and Doha, but flight services have been put on hold for now.
