The rest of the Pakistan Super League will happen without the Hawkeye and DRS systems since most of the tech crew is from India and won’t be coming back after the recent tensions. The PSL was put on hold after India carried out missile strikes on terror sites in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir just two weeks after the Pahalgam attack that killed 26 people. The PCB tried to move the rest of the league to the UAE, but the Emirates Cricket Board turned them down.
Now, the PCB is struggling to finish the 10th edition of the PSL after the conflict with India. A reliable source from a team said that the crew managing the Hawkeye and DRS tech hasn’t returned to Pakistan, which means the final matches will go on without DRS, a tough break for the board and the teams. The broadcaster, mainly made up of Indian staff, has left since the league was suspended due to the conflict, and they haven’t come back because of the situation.
Franchises are also having a hard time replacing overseas players, as some have chosen to join the IPL, including players like Mitchell Owens and Kusal Mendis. On Thursday, Islamabad United faced a setback with their opener, Alex Hales from England, also heading back home just before their match.
