The Punjab Kings team is out of IPL 2023 after losing against Rajasthan Royals. The match played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium in Dharamshala, Rajasthan Royals kept their playoff hopes alive by defeating Punjab Kings by 4 wickets. After being out of the tournament, the Punjab captain was disappointed and gave a big statement after this defeat.

After the defeat, Shikhar Dhawan said, “We had lost wickets initially, but Sam Curran, Jitesh and Shahrukh made a comeback in the match. Our bowling was good, but we made many mistakes in fielding. We had to drop the catch the most.”

He further said, “According to me, the score of 200 runs on this pitch was good. We could have done better, but it did not happen. Overall our performance was not so good.”

The journey of the Punjab Kings team in the current season of IPL (IPL-2023) ended with a defeat. Rajasthan Royals defeated Shikhar Dhawan’s team by 4 wickets in the match played at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamshala on Friday.

After being invited to bat first, the Punjab team scored 187 runs for 5 wickets in the 20 overs. After this, Rajasthan achieved the target by losing 6 wickets with 2 balls remaining.

Chasing the target of 188 runs, the Rajasthan team lost the first wicket at the score of 12 when Jos Buttler (0) was sent to the pavilion by Kagiso Rabada in the second over. After this, Devdutt Padikkal shared a 73-run partnership with Yashasvi Jaiswal for the second wicket. Arshdeep caught Devdutt at the hands of Harpreet Brar. He contributed 51 runs in 30 balls by hitting 5 fours and 3 sixes. Opener Yashasvi scored 50 runs for Rajasthan.
