Team India’s young wicketkeeping sensation, Ishan Kishan, has been out of competitive cricket for quite a while now. However, in spite of being out of cricket action, Ishan Kishan has been on top of the news headlines.
There are several speculations being made about Ishan Kishan’s comeback and even future in international cricket. The star batter has been out of India’s squad across the three formats of the game.
Ishan Kishan was last seen in India’s squad when they toured South Africa. In the middle of the series, Ishan Kishan asked for a break from team management and has not been available for selection since then.
Further adding to the woes of the young wicketkeeper, Ishan Kishan has even not been playing domestic cricket for his state since then and made himself unavailable for selection in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy.
Now the secretary of BCCI, Jay Shah, has given his verdict on Ishan Kishan. In an event speaking about Ishan Kishan, Jay Shah said, “Ishan is a young player. There is no need to mention his name anywhere. All the players have no alternative to playing domestic cricket, and this applies to everyone associated with the team under this contract.”
Looking at Ishan Kishan’s behavior over the past, BCCI has made it mandatory for players to participate in the domestic tournament if not selected by team India for any series.
However, it will be interesting to see whether Ishan Kishan makes himself available for selection in the Jharkhand cricket team, as they are going to take on Rajasthan in their next Ranji Trophy game.
