Team India is currently playing against England in a five-match test series. However, one player who has been constantly on the radar with his performance is none other than Indian wicketkeeper KS Bharat.
Indian wicketkeeper Ks Bharat has been drawing criticism from all around the world, whether from former players or fans, because of his performances on the international stage.
One of the Ace commenters on the game Sanjay Manjrekar has questioned Ks Bharat’s spot in the Indian team. Sanjay Manjrekar feels that the talented wicketkeeper has not been able to justify his place in the Indian test set-up.
KS Bharat has been given chances in the longer formats of the game on a regular basis; however, the wicketkeeper batter has failed to light up the international stage as per expectation. Ks Bharat has played seven test matches for team India, scoring only 221 runs at a modest average of 20.09.
He has the highest score of 44 in the longest format of the game and is yet to score his maiden half century in the test matches. Sanjay Manjrekar feels that Team India should now look ahead to Ks Bharat, especially when someone like Rishabh Pant is in line to make a comeback on the international stage.
Sanjay Manjrekar further went on to say that the team management made a very good decision when they gave priority to Ishan Kishan over Ks Bharat as he has not performed up to the mark. The team management should look for a wicketkeeper batter who could contribute with the bat if needed.
Team India has not been able to find a substantial wicketkeeper in the absence of Rishabh Pant, who has been out of action since December 2022 after meeting with a life-threatening accident.
However, Rishabh has started playing cricket and is all set to make a comeback in the upcoming season of the IPL.
