According to the latest report coming from the Indian cricket faculty, BCCI is looking to unveil some incentive plans for uncapped cricketers related to the Indian Premier League. The aim behind this incentive is to reward players who get international caps between IPL seasons.
Typically, an uncapped player is bound to the league fee for three years or until released by the franchise that acquired them at the IPL auction. However, under certain circumstances, the league fee for an uncapped player may undergo a significant increase. If an uncapped player manages to participate in 10 international games between two IPL seasons, their fee could potentially double.
In a recent communication, the BCCI outlined a fee regulation for uncapped players, highlighting the lack of minimum league fee regulations. According to this regulation, if an uncapped player whose league fee is below Rs. 50 Lakhs, attains capped status or accumulates five or ten caps from the conclusion of one season to the commencement of the next, their league fee for the subsequent season and beyond might go with an increment.
As an illustration, if a player achieves one cap, the league fee would be Rs. 50 Lakhs, increasing to Rs. 75 Lakhs for 5-9 caps, and further rising to Rs. one crore for ten caps or more. It’s important to note that this fee structure remains applicable even if the player is traded.
