2023 ODI World Cup: Why And How Pakistan Got A Shocking Defeat Of Eights Wickets Against Afghanistan, Skipper Babar Azam Reveals The Reason

Pakistan Cricket Team got a shocking defeat on Monday against Afghanistan where the men in green were beaten by eight wickets. After this loss, the captain of the Pakistan cricket team Babar Azam showed his epic disappointment and gave the reason for this loss.

Afghanistan successfully reached the target of 283 runs with six balls remaining in their innings, thanks to a strong performance by their openers, Ibrahim Zadran, who scored 87 runs off 113 balls, and Rahmanullah Gurbaz, who contributed 65 runs from 53 balls.

While batting at number three, captain Rahmat Shah, batting at number three, remained unbeaten with 77 runs, while captain Hashmatullah Shahidi also played a crucial role with an unbeaten 48 runs as Afghanistan extended their remarkable run of defeating strong opponents. It’s worth noting that they had previously surprised the cricketing world by defeating defending champions England in a prior match during the tournament.

While talking during the post-match presentation, Babar Azam said, “We had a good total, but in bowling, we were not up to the mark because we weren’t taking wickets in the middle overs.”

He further added, “In a World Cup, if you are not good even in one department, you lose. We started well while bowling, but we couldn’t take wickets.”

“The pitch was helping the spinners even in the second innings. There was no pressure on their batsmen.”
